Important Information
US and Foreign Applicants Due to fluctuations in the US/CDN dollar exchange rate, US and foreign applicants are kindly requested to provide payment in Canadian funds. The fee for Summer 2010 programs is $4,395.94 CDN. A deposit of $750 must accompany the completed application (parts A, B & C) in order to process application. Students and parents will be notified by mail of acceptance into the program. A second payment of $1,800 CDN must be received by April 15th 2010. The balance of 1,845.94 CDN must be received by May 15th 2010. If you are applying after May 15th, all program costs ($4,395.94 CDN) must be paid in full by cheque.
A deposit cheque plus two post-dated cheques for the above amounts are preferred. Cheques are kept on file until payment due dates. Cheques are payable to Ocean Educations Ltd., and mailed to:

Students should plan air travel in order to arrive at the Victoria B.C. airport at approximately noon on the day of commencement of their session and plan to depart Victoria at approximately noon on the final day of the course.
Alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, narcotics, marijuana and related substances or hallucinogens in possession or use while attending the Ocean Educations Ltd. Marine and Environmental Science Program at Lester B. Pearson College is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this regulation is cause for, and will result in, the immediate dismissal of the student.
We do not anticipate that any student will not comply with the regulations set forth by Ocean Educations Ltd., Lester B. Pearson College and the Peel District School Board. However, should this occur, we reserve the right to dismiss any student whose action, behaviour, attitude, or influence is unsatisfactory or, is in the opinion of the Ocean Educations Ltd. Director and instructors of the program, not in the best interest of the Marine and Environmental Science Program.
In the event of such dismissal, there shall be no refund of any part of the fee. Parents and guardians will be responsible for any extra costs incurred under these circumstances including travel date change fees and penalties, travel and chaperon arrangements.
Activities associated with the program require optimum pulmonary/lung function and students are not permitted to use tobacco products for the duration of the Marine and Environmental Science Program. Students with a strong addiction to tobacco products should carefully consider their participation in this program. Lester B. Pearson College is a non-smoking facility.
The activities that comprise the Ocean Educations Ltd. Marine and Environmental Science Program have an increased risk of injury. Participants, parents and guardians agree to release and indemnify Ocean Educations Ltd., Lester B. Pearson College and the Peel District School Board and all of their directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives whatsoever, and their successors, heirs and assigns from any claims, cost, expense (including legal costs) and/or damages which any of them may sustain or incur arising out of the applicant's participation in such activities.
Parties taking part in agreements and activities that comprise the Marine and Environmental Science Program provided by Ocean Educations Ltd. acknowledge and attorn to jurisdiction of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
Photographic and video images of students registered in the Marine and Environmental Science Program may be used for promotional purposes.
Ocean Educations Ltd. reserves the right to cancel any program with full refund to applicants.

The following is a recommend list of the items you will need while on Vancouver Island this summer. There are laundry facilities available (soap is provided), however we suggest you bring at least the minimum number of items listed. A good rule is to not bring anything you cannot afford to lose. Leave expensive jewellery and stereo items at home. Just a reminder, there is NO SMOKING allowed at Pearson College.
